Secular cum gospel singer Grace Nakimera has confessed to struggling with alcohol use after giving her life to Christ.
Grace Nakimera, hailed as one of the best dancehall divas the industry has ever seen, took a bold step and gave her life to Christ following personal struggles.
During a TV interview, she revealed that life after her decision was not an easy journey, as she struggled to break free from her old habits.
Among the addictions that she battled with was alcohol use, which she confesses went on even when she was consistent in attending church.
“Getting born-again is easy, but changing completely from your old life is very hard. Many people are in church but have not changed because of some open doors. I got born again and went to church, but I struggled to quit alcohol. Because of those open doors, I would still be affected like I was before I got saved. When you have those open doors, you go through a lot. You are at peace when you are transformed completely. It stays with you. Personally, I have gained weight, I have a smile, and God gave me rest,” she said.
While comparing the life she lived before and after quitting alcohol, Grace Nakimera revealed she made the right decision.

She claims she now lives a much better, more peaceful life. This has brought her happiness that she couldn’t find in any material things of the world, but could only be found in Christ.
“We lived a life of drinking to a point of totally going off. But here, I’m completely sober, meaning if I’m happy, it is genuine and not because of the influence. My happiness comes from within; it is the peace that surpasses human understanding. Even when I’m going through a tough situation, I still have my joy because I have Jesus. It is not about how much money I have in the bank, a new car, a new iPhone, or anything. It is about God and about the genuine, amazing happiness. I hope everyone gets there. If I’m happy, it is not influenced by anything,”
