On July 19th, during a short break in Zanzibar, GNL Zamba’s record label, Baboon Forest, experienced a targeted cyberattack that compromised access to key digital assets and platforms developed by our tech hub.
Despite strong cybersecurity measures, the breach was traced to a compromised email account belonging to a former intern with limited access.
Unfortunately, this led to unauthorized control of the Baboon Forest YouTube accounts and temporary loss of important creative content, including GNL’s forthcoming album, unreleased videos, and projects in development.
The rapper and his team are collaborating with cybersecurity experts and relevant authorities to recover all affected assets and enhance their systems’ security.
