Rapper GNL Zamba has opened up on how he fought so hard to quit his strong addiction to cigarettes that made him lose a very important endorsement in his life years back.

On his ‘Zambaland’ podcast, the luga flow rapper revealed that he quit the vice seven years back and admitted that he had become so addicted to the point that he smoked a cigarette all through the day. GNL Zamba struggled to gradually walk away from the vice that had become part of his life but he did not know how to do it.

I was addicted and I tried several times to stop but I realized I couldn’t. I got to a point of flashing down the cigarettes in the toilet, determined that I was done and starting a new life but none of that worked, GNL Zamba said.

It was until one fateful day when he had a meeting for an important gig in his career and while it was going on, he stepped out and used the stairs instead of the lift because he wanted to use this chance to smoke a cigarette.

When he came back into the room, the group realized what he had done because he was reeking of the cigarette smell.

This was the moment he realized he had to let go of smoking because it was not only affecting his finances but also his family.

As a person who has smoked before, knows the effects, and whose family has been affected by the vice, the rapper addressed people who are around smokers to encourage them to quit by continuously arming them with enough information to help them consider what they are doing.

Recalled when a friend got angry with him for opening up to him about his addiction suggesting that he could easily control it.
