Flavia Tumusiime Advises Youths to Date Slowly and Avoid Rushed Marriages

Date:

Media personality Flavia Tumusiime has advised young people against lifelong commitments, urging them to focus on growth and personal ambitions.

During one of her motivational talks about life, Flavia spoke to youths, particularly those in their early twenties, and advised them to take their time with intimate relationships and marriage.

She noted that it was better for them to have a good time and enjoy their lives to the fullest rather than rush into marriage, which she says is likely to end in divorce.

Flavia emphasized that even though many young people had succeeded in their marriages despite starting out younger, they still needed time to pursue their ambitions, because they wouldn’t have that chance once they were fully committed to marriage.

“You find a lot of young people, like a 21-year-old, wondering if the person they dated was the one. At 21, you are still young; you will be divorced at 31. I’m not saying that there are 21-year-olds who have ot succeeded in marriage; they are there, but you are still young. There is a lot of maturity to come around, especially when it comes to relationships or deciding who is the one. Take your time; pursue your ambitions, and take care of them, because you won’t have time to do that later. I’m not saying you shouldn’t date because that is what you want to do, but don’t be so caught up and so sad and unhappy about how you were trying to settle down but got disappointed,” she said.

Flavia further advised the youth to take their time and also carefully consider the person they are going to settle down with. This can only be achieved by going on different dates instead of rushing to plan a wedding that is likely to end in disaster.

“You don’t even know this guy and are not even trying to understand this person because you are too busy trying to plan a wedding. Just plan a lunch date, just that, and eventually it will lead you to planning a wedding. Don’t rush, don’t be in a rush because you will crash,” she said.
