Fik Gaza Returns to NRM Rallies After Payment Dispute Resolved

Date:

Musician Fik Gaza, real name Shafik Jjingo, has reappeared at NRM rallies, retracting earlier statements about boycotting the party.

A few weeks back, Fik Gaza appeared on social media, blasting the NRM party, accusing them of exploitation of musicians from the ghetto.

In a series of social media posts, he announced that he would no longer appear at any of their organized rallies and even offered to refund the deposits they had made.

To netizens’ surprise, however, Fik Gaza appeared at presidential rallies in Western Uganda for several performances. Speaking to journalists, Fik Gaza explained that he had taken up the gigs again because the relevant parties had finally paid the money he had requested earlier.

They are yet to address the issues I had complained about. It was all about money; that is what I work for, because it is not easy to make a name for yourself. I had to cause chaos for that to get cleared. Many people, including Bebe Cool, Hon. Balaam, and Eddy Kenzo, among others, made sure that the ghetto youths also shone.

Fik Gaza revealed that the payment was based on the number of songs that each artist performed, and he had a rich catalogue. He promised to appear at many more rallies to sing for his fans.
