Singer Fik Gaza, real name Shafik Jjingo, has appealed to Uganda’s president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to support TikTok content creators.
For the past few months, President Museveni has engaged with several content creators, hinting at his plans to support them.
He has since attended several meetings dubbed the Jazz with Jajja, where content creators shared their challenges and how they can be helped.
During his recent Jazz with Jajja session, Museveni pledged to inject Ugx 5B into the content creators SACCO, to help them actualize some of their financial goals.
The funding, however, drew mixed reactions, with a section of content creators suggesting that the president would have engaged with concerned parties to enable Ugandan creators to earn from digital platforms rather than the SACCO funding.
Joining the roster of critics is singer Fik Gaza, who took to his X account to urge the president to consider supporting TikTok creators by exploring monetization options, rather than the Ugx 5B SACCO injection.

Fik Gaza went on to defend his plea, claiming content monetization would boost creators’ digital economy and encourage creativity among Ugandans.
Dear Jjaja
@KagutaMuseveni, I’m requesting you consider supporting TikTok creators by exploring monetization options, rather than the 5 billion shilling charge. This could boost our digital economy and encourage creativity.
