Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica has explained why he appeared on stage for performances just days after losing his beloved mother.
Fik Fameica’s mother, Jackline Nassimbwa, who was also a common face at his concerts, passed away on 27th December at Kibuli Hospital after an illness. Having laid her to rest two days later, the rapper was back on stage to usher his fans into the new year, and he took moments of silence to honor his mother’s memory.
During his recent performance at Shades Of Kampala, Fik Fameica explained that it took courage for him to step back on stage in less than a week, and that he did it for his fans.
While answering fans’ questions about how he managed to bounce back despite the tragedy that befell his family, he noted that he trained himself to always show up for the people who had paid to watch him perform.
Despite the sad moments, Fik Fameica revealed that he made sure to put his sorrows aside and bring vibes and entertainment to his fans, because that is what they have known and supported him for.

This is because I’m trained. I have always set myself to step on stage as long as I have been paid. I keep in mind that this is work, and my job is to entertain my people. With this, I put all my problems aside and came on stage. My problems do not come on stage with me; I only bring music, vibes, and enjoyment to my people who have invested their money in me. The rest can wait because it is me, and I have to showcase what I am, he said.
