In a city known for its vibrant creativity, few stories capture the spirit of modern Kampala quite like that of Brian Matsiko, professionally trained architect by day and chart-topping musician by night. Known to fans as Faymous, Matsiko is redefining what it means to pursue excellence in more than one field.
From Academic Excellence to Architectural Practice
Born and raised in Mbarara City, Faymous’ journey is rooted in discipline and academic distinction. He emerged as a standout student at Kitabi Seminary in Bushenyi, where his academic performance set him apart early on. His dedication earned him a government sponsorship to Makerere University, Uganda’s premier institution, where he undertook a rigorous five-year Bachelor of Architecture program.
Today, Matsiko is a practicing professional architect, contributing to the built environment while quietly nurturing another passion that would soon demand the spotlight.
A Carefully Crafted Musical Journey
Faymous officially stepped into the music industry in 2018 with his debut single, “Tegumala.” The song introduced audiences to an artist with a refined sound and emotional depth. In 2020, he made a deliberate decision to pause his musical output, choosing instead to focus on professional growth and personal development.
That pause would later prove strategic.
In 2025, Faymous returned with renewed energy and artistic clarity, delivering a series of high-profile collaborations that quickly dominated radio playlists and digital platforms across Uganda.
Among his standout releases are:
- “Gundeeze”, a massive hit featuring celebrated duo Kataleya & Kandle
- “Kigwo (Remix)”, a soulful reworking of his earlier track, featuring vocal heavyweight Geosteady
- “Oli Wange”, a romantic collaboration with award-winning songstress Nina Roz
Each release reinforced his place not just as a comeback artist, but as a serious musical contender.
A New Chapter Under Ray Pan Management
Now based in Kampala, Faymous operates under Ray Pan Management, a move that has further professionalized his music career. With a growing catalog that includes fan-favorite tracks like “Otukubanyo,” he has successfully transitioned from “promising talent” to established artist.

What sets Faymous apart is not just his sound, but his story. While many struggle to balance creative dreams with professional obligations, he has managed to excel in both, designing structures that shape the city’s skyline while producing music that defines its mood.
Blueprint and Beats
Faymous’ journey is a powerful reminder that passion does not have to be singular. With discipline, vision, and drive, it is possible to thrive in both the world of blueprints and the world of beats. As Kampala continues to grow and evolve, Faymous stands as one of its most compelling symbols of multidimensional success.
