The Uganda film industry is saddened by the untimely passing of a renowned filmmaker, actress, dancer, and visual artist, Esteri Tebandeke.
According to reports, Esteri Tebandeke has been fighting with kidney-related health challenges, and in 2022, she underwent a kidney transplant after receiving a donation from her husband, Samuel Lutaaya Tebandeke.
Unfortunately, Esteri Tebandeke’s body started rejecting the newly acquired kidney, which led to prolonged health challenges.
A few weeks back, Esteri was rushed to Nakasero Hospital, where she has been undergoing specialized medication attention.
However, she lost the battle and was pronounced dead, sparking a somber mood among her friends, family, and fans.

Esteri has been a prominent figure in the film world, appearing in films such as Sins of the Parents (2008), Master on Duty (2009), and Queen of Katwe (2016).
