The Chairperson of Entebbe Stages Conductors and Drivers Association Hood Walakira alias Chief Abiola is wanted by police for inciting violence among his fellow drivers and conductors on July 8, 2025.
On the fateful day, the incited Taxi drivers smashed taxi windscreens belonging to their fellow taxi operators of Entebbe Fly Express. The violent incident saw over twenty drivers and conductors arrested and detained at Entebbe police station.
The operation was conducted by joint security forces who engaged Abiola’s side in running battles.
According to security sources, prior to the scuffle, the two warring taxi operators had a meeting with the Entebbe Division security committee and both leaders from the two warring groups attended.
It’s reported that during the meeting, Walakira refused to operate alongside the leader of Entebbe Fly Express – Peter Kagwa saying that all drones operating at Entebbe Bus Park should come and operate in Kitooro taxi Park under his leadership of Entebbe Stages Conductors and Drivers Association.
However, during the bloody scuffle, several taxi operators loyal to Walakira were severely beaten up and sustained serious injuries as they tried to carry placards demanding the removal of Entebbe Bus park stage where their counterparts of Entebbe Fly Express operate.
Several taxis belonging to the Fly Express Operators were pelted with stones along Airport road opposite Entebbe Junior School as they dropped passengers from Kampala.
The Abiola led ESCADA cohort is said to have targeted President Museveni’s impending visit on Wednesday July 9, 2025 on his way to Division B to check on PDM projects.
Several of the attackers are currently freezing in coolers at Entebbe police station.
