The Speaker of Busiro County in Buganda Kingdom Ms. Ellon Vero Bbubye succumbed to death on Sunday morning June 29,2025 after months being bedridden.
The deceased who was once a representative of the Kabaka of Buganda in Entebbe before being appointed Busiro County speaker promoted a number of Kingdom programs in Entebbe Municipality including Community service and tree planting among other initiatives.
Last night on June 29, 2025, dozens of locals in Entebbe Municipality flocked her residence in Nakiwogo zone, Entebbe Municipality Division B’.
Today June 30, 2025, the first prayer service for the deceased will be held at St. Stephen’s church in Nakiwogo zone. Thereafter, a vigil will continue at her home in Nakiwogo zone.
On Tuesday July 1,2025, a requiem mass will be held at St Mark’s Church Namate at 9.00am in the morning and thereafter she will be laid to rest at 4pm at her ancestral home in Bweya village , Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso district.
The Entebbe women forum where she was a member described her as a mentor, counsellor, mother and a true grandmother of all women and men.
