Masaka-based businessman Emmanuel Lwasa has spoken out after his estranged wife, Nakyejwe Harriet, dragged him to the courts of law following a dispute over a piece of land located in Gangu that he had given to her and their children.
According to Nkyejwe, Lwasa sold the piece of land that was meant to secure the family’s future without her consent. She revealed that he went ahead and destroyed the property they had put up on the land, forcing her to seek legal intervention to protect what rightfully belonged to her and her children.
The incident happened last year, and in a social media clip, Lwasa was seen banging on the gate of what was believed to be his ex-wife’s house. He was surrounded by a group of men who swiftly jumped over the fence and opened the gate forcefully after they were denied access.
Initially, he claimed that he wanted to build his flat on the land, but later it turned out that he had sold it, prompting Nakyejwe to drag him to court.
Speaking to journalists, Lwasa admitted to having sold the plot of land behind the house he had given to her. He denied having given that part of the land he sold to Harriet Nakyejwe and believed she had no reason to go to court to report the case.

He revealed that he would report to court as summoned, but described it as a waste of his time and resources.
“We had children with her, I took them to school and took care of them until they got their own houses and families. I do not know what she wants since I left the house for her.
Only sold the plot behind the house, and because she did this, I will take away the house from her. I have nothing to tell her, but I cannot stand and fight with my children. Let me just wait and see what happens,” Emmanuel Lwasa said.
