Big Talent boss and musician Eddy Kenzo has threatened to jail creatives over fraud and misuse of government funds.
During the Uganda National Musicians Association (UNMF) annual general meeting, Eddy Kenzo delved into several topics, including warning those who obtain money through false pretenses.
According to Kenzo, many of them have formed non-existent groups, get members, and present them to get money. Additionally, a section used fake National Identity Cards (IDs) to obtain the funds and later misused them.
“People have been taking things lightly. They take money on behalf of many, but in reality, they are not real. Those who have been presenting other people’s national IDs and using them to obtain funds from the federation, and then misusing them. There are many, but I warn them, and they know I’m very serious this time,” he said.

As a measure to curb this kind of fraud, Kenzo revealed that, as a federation, it will visit such individuals on-site to conduct due diligence. This will help them confirm whether the groups they use to obtain money are legitimate or scams.
