EC Sets Nomination Dates for Special Interest Groups at Parish Level

The Electoral Commission has set June 26-27, 2025 as dates for nomination of candidates for Special Interest Groups including youths, persons with disabilities and elderly persons. The announcement was made today June 26, 2025 by the Commission’s spokesman, Julius Mucunguzi.

 

Mr. Mucunguzu emphasized that it’s only those who went through the village committee elections who are eligible to pick nomination forms to participate in parish committee elections.

 

He added that the electors for parish committee members will come from the village committee that will constitute electoral colleges to elect among themselves.

 

He strongly warned the general public to desist from violence, use of abusive language, and hate speeches so as to conduct a peaceful, fair, and transparent parish committee polls.

 

He also challenged candidates to follow and adhere to guidelines issued by electoral Commission.
