Dr. Matthew Ashimolowo Concludes Impactful 2-Day Visit to Uganda

Date:

Dr. Matthew Ashimolowo, the founder and senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London, has concluded his two-day visit to Uganda, leaving behind a lasting impression on the thousands who attended his teachings.

Dr. Ashimolowo arrived in the country on the invitation of Dr. Godfrey and Pastor Edith Kamese, senior pastors of The Praise Cathedral – Ntinda. His visit, which ran from July 9 to 10, 2025, centred around the annual Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conference held at Lugogo Hockey Grounds under the theme: “Reigniting the Fire in the Age of Distraction.”

The free-entry conference attracted massive crowds from Uganda and beyond, with attendees coming from countries including Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Among the guests were religious leaders, politicians, diplomats, businesspersons, judicial officers, and community leaders.

Known for his global television and radio ministry, Winning Ways, Dr. Ashimolowo delivered deeply insightful and practical messages that challenged believers to aim higher in their leadership and walk with God. In one of his most notable remarks during the event, he stated:

I want to challenge all leaders and pastors here that the devil doesn’t know you. The devil only showed up for four people in the Bible: Adam, Job, Jesus, and Daniel, because of their level. So, stop blaming the devil for your work that is not progressing; you are not even on his level.

The guest of Honor was the First Lady of the Republic of Uganda, Hon Janet Kataha Museveni, whom the Rtd represented. General Overseer, Bishop of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda, delivered her speech.

The first lady thanked Dr. Matthew Ashimolowo for impacting the world through his wealth of teachings and for building the capacity of Pastors and leaders to serve as good stewards in the body of Christ. And took it as an honor and a blessing to host Dr Mathew Ashimolowo at the Pastors and leaders’ conference 2025

She said that the theme of ‘Reigniting the fire in the age of distraction’ was important because one of the major distractions the body of Christ faces in this age is conflicting among church leaders, which is caused by disunity as well as a lack of respect and love for one another.

She encouraged the Pastors and leaders to stand together in love; when they do that, the church will be an unshakable force against the enemy.

You can’t fight a common enemy when you are divided. She urged the Pastors and leaders to reflect the heart of Jesus Christ by practicing love and humility while building bridges of unity rather than walls of division among themselves and the congregation.

She encouraged the Pastors and leaders to make sure that the nation goes through the elections in peace and harmony.

Dr. Ashimolowo, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in African Christianity and one of the largest investors in Nigerian real estate, has authored over 90 books. He also serves on the Board of Reference for GOD TV, a leading Christian media network.

His Uganda visit was marked by in-depth Bible teachings, leadership empowerment, and a renewed sense of purpose for the thousands who attended.
