Comedian Kapere Lufotose has expressed his grievances, calling out fellow comedians in high-ranking positions for denying struggling colleagues.
Kapere, during his media interview, name-dropped Alex Muhangi, accusing him of being greedy and selfish. As the president of the Uganda Comedians Federation, Kapere claimed that Muhangi had many opportunities, especially for his weekly Comedy Store show, but had never given him a chance to step on stage.
“I’m not happy at all. What hurts me most is that we don’t wish others well. Is it because I’m ugly or because I do not add anything to you? You maltreat the poor; there are very many young talents down in the ghetto who have amazing work but cannot get the chance because the people who have made a name for themselves in the industry don’t want to give us money,” he said.
This is not the first time Kapere has publicly called out Alex Muhangi. On several occasions, he has appeared on various media outlets to express his disappointment, but to no avail.
He reminded him of his early years at Wallet Pub when Amooti, who was one of the best comedians at that time, gave him an opportunity to showcase his skills, a favor he says he has failed to pass on to the others below him.

“Alex Muhangi, I will not speak about you again, and it is okay if you do not call me or give me your gigs. Amooti, during his days at Wallet Pub, didn’t leave you out because he gave you opportunities on stage. They helped you, too, but now that you are big, you are undermining your fellow comedians. I knelt before you, begging for a chance to work with you to better my life, but you refused. You want me to first die before you do anything? Don’t ever condole me when I’m dead, and I don’t need your money then,” he said
