Don Nasser Finally Granted Bail Over His Defilement Case

Date:

Faded city socialite Nasser Nduhukire also known as Don Nasser has today 18 December been granted a cash bail of Shs 3m.

Don Nasser was granted bail by presiding judge Andrew Bashaija at the International Crimes Division (ICD) which is under the High Court.

Together with his co-accused, Promise Atete, the self-styled businessman faces allegations of defilement and aggravated child trafficking. His four sureties were also granted a noncash bond of Shs 50m. He was also instructed to hand in his passport to the court Registrar and if he’s to travel internationally, he will first seek Court permission.

Don Nasser has also been ordered to always report to the deputy registrar once a month.

“I am satisfied that the applicant has a fixed place of abode and the fact that he went through the back door as the state alleges that he jumped over his fence and fled to an unknown place, this does not deny him being a resident,” Justice Bashaija ruled.

Furthermore, the Court ruled out the State’s claims that the socialite might interfere with the witnesses. The Court stated that none of the witnesses are known to the Court.
