Media personality and deejay Nimrod has revealed that he cut ties with some of his family members after they despised his job.
Deejay Nimrod’s musical inspiration dates back to his school days, before he rose to fame as a radio presenter and club deejay. However, during his radio show, he revealed that when he decided to pursue the career he is in now, he faced resistance, especially from his family.
Nimrod, real name Nimrod Nabeeta, noted that, because of misconceptions about deejaying and the music industry, his own mother tried to stop him from pursuing his dream. He, however, persisted, and he has now achieved his dream life, which has made his mother proud.
“When I was leaving home, my mother thought I was going to ruin my life. But right now I’m a responsible person, and she is proud of me,” he said.
Deejay Nimrod revealed that there was a common belief in society that everyone working in the media, especially on TV and radio, was immoral and irresponsible. He noted that this was highly believable by religious leaders who continuously preached against their line of work.
He further revealed that because of the heavy judgment, he had to cut ties with one of his paternal aunts, who kept insulting him for choosing to do what he loved best.

“Please, I advise preachers or religious leaders not to attack people’s jobs. I cut ties with one of my aunties because she was one of the people insulting my job out there, saying I was going to get spoiled. Right now, I drive my own car, I have land, and I’m constructing my own house, and here she comes asking me for money. She kept telling me to get other jobs that were responsible, but she was not giving them to me,” he said.
