Musician Dax Vibez, real name Ivan Bugembe Ssentamu, has explained why he switched from hardcore dancehall to the soft love ballads and Afropop he is releasing now, citing it was not working out for him.
Dax Vibez started out as a dancehall artist before finding his niche and releasing soft love music. To his surprise, his fans loved the new direction he had taken, and since his breakthrough, his music has been doing well on charts, making him one of the most booked and busiest talents in the industry.
During his TV interview, Dax was asked why he switched from dancehall to softer, sweeter melodies. He confessed that he was not earning big from craft, then found his niche when he decided to jump on the trending style.
He announced plans to release a new EP this year, saying it would include some dancehall songs infused with Caribbean style. He promised to get back to his roots when he feels comfortable in his position in the industry.

“When I did dancehall, I was almost going hungry because of it. In that genre, I had a lot to prove and felt stressed out every time I left the studio. Dancehall is profitable, though I discovered my path.
I released different songs and started comparing them. I will do dancehall again when I get to A Pass’ level in music. The Dancehall I’m singing now is a bit soft and sweet,” Dax Vibez said.
