A tragic double homicide has shaken the quiet community of Lugonjo Nakiwogo in Entebbe, following the brutal killing of a retired couple, David and Deborah Mutaaga, at their home. What began as a peaceful evening of socializing ended in horror when the two were discovered with fatal stab wounds—one in the compound and the other inside the house—shortly after hosting a small gathering.

Despite no prior threats or known disputes, an unknown assailant is believed to have scaled the perimeter wall around 10 p.m. and carried out the attack without raising alarm. Neighbors reported no signs of struggle or distress until police arrived later that night.

The Mutaagas, aged 69 and 62, had returned to Uganda a year earlier to enjoy retirement and were described as quiet and well-liked by locals. Their sudden and violent deaths have left the community stunned and searching for answers.

Authorities are treating the case as a suspected aggravated robbery and murder. Two domestic workers have been arrested for questioning, and forensic teams, including a K9 unit, were deployed to the scene. Although no suspect has been apprehended, investigations are ongoing, with police urging the public to share any relevant information.

The incident has prompted renewed calls for stronger neighborhood security and heightened police patrols, as residents grapple with the unsettling reality of such violence in their midst.
