Western Ugandan-based artist Omega 256 and dancehall artist Cindy Sanyu have teamed up on a brand-new song dubbed ‘See you tonight’.
The pair took time off to discuss their ‘collaboration of the year’ and how they managed to work together despite their different personalities.
Cindy Sanyu acknowledged Omega’s little bit of arrogance that she claimed comes with her tribe, but confessed she never experienced it when they met.
“The good thing was we first talked on the phone, so I didn’t realize any weird character that you people speak about her. When she came to me, we connected naturally. That is why we are here shooting the video,” Cindy spoke to Sanyuka TV.
A few years back, before Crystal Panda started doing music, he claimed he had asked Cindy for a collaboration, but she unfortunately turned down his request.
In her defense, Cindy says she has a criterion she follows before granting any artist a chance to perform with her, and one of the requirements is talent.
“My standards are a bit high because I have been around for some time. This is not showing off but I have witnessed different talents. Before I think of anything, I want to see the talent. Then the character because when you work with someone, you have to be together forever. The last thing is business sense, how we both gain from each other,” she said.
Omega revealed that she was among the artists that Cindy found talented enough to collaborate with. She explained that she didn’t have to convince her because she had already listened to her music before their meeting and liked it.

“By the time I met up with her, she already knew me and loved my music. She carefully considers talent before collaborating with anyone. She thought that I was talented enough. We just talked about it, and it happened just like that,” Omega revealed.
