Dancehall musician Cindy Sanyu, real name Cinderella Sanyu Muyonjo, has hit back at critics, hoping that she will retire from the music industry shortly.
Cindy Sanyu, while speaking in an interview, made it clear to her doubters that her passion to create hits and entertain her fans was stronger than ever.
With age, Cindy revealed that she will continue to rebrand to suit the interests of her fans rather than abandoning what she loves doing best.
”I want to assure all my haters and all those that do not like me that I have never thought about quitting. I am still here. You just keep changing the branding with age but not retiring from the industry. That is why Afrigo Band and Halimah Namakula are still surviving because it is not about age but the more you grow up, the more you rediscover,” the almost 40-year-old said.
Cindy was part of the famous all-girl group Blu*3 that rocked the airwaves in the 2000s. The group’s soulful jams, which cut across East Africa, earned them a loyal fanbase before they were later disbanded and reunited with a successful concert.

Despite their reunion, the Blu*3 members continue to pursue their solo music careers, and Cindy Sanyu is gearing up to commemorate her over 20-year music career with a concert on 29th August 2025 at Millennium Park, Lugogo.
Cindy Sanyu’s concerts are famous for drawing large crowds, with her Boom Party concert being named as one of the largest concerts ever held by a female artist at the Cricket Oval.
