Cindy Sanyu Acknowledges Ava Peace’s Talent, Warns Against Rivalry With Sheebah Karungi

Date:

Musician Cindy Sanyu has advised Ava Peace to step back from the brewing battle with Sheebah Karungi and focus on her career.

Cindy, while speaking to Spark TV, used the opportunity as UMA president to address rising artists who often think they compete with fellow artists who have been in the game longer.

The dancehall artist singled out Ava Peace, who has recently been in a silent, cryptic battle with Sheebah Karungi, advising her to shift her energy to her career.

She hailed Ava Peace for releasing good music, emphasizing that if she channeled all her energy into creating more hits and entertaining her fans, she would get even more bookings, as the audience would pay more attention to music than to drama.

“Young artists should stop thinking that someone else is sitting in their position. The industry doesn’t have a lane; pick your lane and move. Please do not focus on other people, thinking they are sabotaging you. The audience wants entertainment; you give them that, and then you will get the bookings. New artists like Ava Peace, who know that they have music, will go far, and no one will stop them. Just get it off your head; give people what they want, and they will book you for shows. That is the big picture; everything else is background noise.”

Cindy further encouraged Ava Peace not to take offense when she is compared to Sheebah Karungi. Given that her brand has only been here for a few years, she feels this should be seen as a compliment and a sign of growth, and that she should be able to go band-for-band with someone who has been in the game for more than a decade.

“If they could pick your two-year-old brand and compare it to someone who has been here for many years, just be happy. It is never a bad thing. Whether it’s good or bad, as long as they are putting you next to an established artist, just be happy. If I were you, I would be thanking them for that,” she said.
