Celebrated musician and outgoing Woman MP for Bugweri District, Hon. Racheal Magoola, has responded to Alien Skin’s recent public declaration that he won’t be performing in the Eastern/Busoga Region following the clash with fans recently.
Hon. Racheal Magoola, during an interview, acknowledged having heard Alien Skin’s statements and condemned the violence by fans in the industry. She noted that the fights were not beneficial and were just dragging the industry back.
Although it was his decision, Magoola assured him that the eastern region’s music industry would not suffer a setback if he didn’t perform for them. She revealed that there were many other talented artists in the region who would still entertain the fans.
“I condemn violence in the entertainment industry and creative economy. It should end because it doesn’t help us. We keep beating ourselves, and as a result, we destroy our things yet get nothing out of it in the end. But for him to say that he won’t perform anymore, it is his right. We have many good artists in Busoga, like Acidic Vokoz and Tinah Baiby. We don’t mind if he comes or not because the industry will not stop because of that,” she said.
Hon. Racheal Magoola’s submission follows Alien Skin’s claims: going forward, he would not perform in the region for both personal and past-experience reasons.
