BUSIA

A tragic incident occurred during a dance party organized by John Mulimba Member of Parliament representing Samia Bugwe constituency and currently serves as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Regional Co-operation).

A 19-year-old man, Polly Bwire, was murdered, and two others were left in critical condition after being attacked by unknown individuals.

According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi South region police spokesperson, the incident happened on July 3, 2025, at a party held at Namongodi Primary School playground in Bulumbi Sub-county.

The victim sustained a deep cut to the neck from a sharp object and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Busia Health Centre IV.

The two injured individuals include Collins Ojambo and another person who remains unidentified. They are currently receiving treatment at Busia Health Centre III in critical condition.

He says police investigations are ongoing, and two suspects, Ajambo Patricia and Abedi Latif, have been arrested in connection with the murder.

The police are working to determine the motive behind the attack, but preliminary findings suggest that the victim may have confronted someone he knew, leading to the altercation.

The incident has been condemned by authorities, who are urging youths to refrain from engaging in chaotic behavior.
