BULAMBULI
Tens of thousands of jubilant residents braved heavy rains to fill Simu Primary School Grounds on Sunday, 6th July, 2025 as President Museveni’s Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Chief Muzzukulu Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, rolled out a massive wealth creation empowerment outreach that left locals beaming with hope.
The event marked yet another milestone in ONC’s nationwide empowerment campaign to equip youth and women with tools for self-reliance.
Excited residents received farming tools and hands-on gadgets which will help both farmers and youths to declare poverty as history in Bulambuli district.
Items given include tomato seeds, onions seeds, Cabbage seeds, spraying pumps and many others including the hands-on materials like frying pans, haircutting machines, welding materials, sewing machines, car washing machines, and hair dryers.
Hon. Sarah Nambozo Wekomba, the aspiring Woman MP for Bulambuli, who welcomed Hajjat Namyalo, pledged unwavering support for President Museveni’s re-election bid. “We are backing Mzee Pakalast for a massive victory in 2026,” she said. “As Bulambuli, we stand united in gratitude for this empowerment that has finally reached our district.”
Wekomba said they are fighting hard through the government of National Resistance Movement to kick out poverty in Bulambuli District and that they thank Hajjat Namyalo for coming to boost wealth creation initiatives in the district.
Hon. Mudimi Wamukuyu (Elgon County) MP, in his remarks thanked President Museveni for initiating the Parish Development Model and urged locals to utilise the funds available at parish level.
“Let us use these funds to create wealth in every household,” he urged. He also promised a special package for boda boda riders in the district, but encouraged them to form small groups so that they can benefit fully from these government programs.
He argued that previously, they used to give people hard cash which has not helped them reason why they decided to give tools to eradicate poverty in Bulamuli District.
