Buganda’s Former Speaker Nelson Kawalya Dies

Former Buganda assembly Speaker Owek.Nelson Kawalya passed away early this morning.

He died at Mengo hospital where he was taken in critical condition. Nelson Kawalya was born 27th September 1940 and died at the age of 84 years.

His son Ssenteza Victor Kawalya said the family is working with the Anglican church, the Kingdom and Rotary. And will soon be issuing the funeral arrangements.

On 14 December 2024, Owek Nelson Kawalya celebrated the 50th anniversary of holy marriage.
