BREAKING! UPDF Troops Capture ADF Base in Ituri Offensive

UPDF forces under Operation Shujaa in eastern DRC have captured Allied Democratic Forces leader, Musa Baluku’s base camp in Apakwang, Ituri Province.

 

After air and artillery strikes last Sunday morning, UPDF troops advanced and captured a huge camp that used to accommodate 1,000 to 1,500 terrorists and their families. This was achieved on Thursday, 10th July 2025.

 

According to Col. Chris Magezi, the Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Forces UPDF, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the UPDF forces also captured huge gardens of rice, beans and cassava.

 

“Hot pursuit against fleeing ADF remnants further west in the offensive is ongoing,” he says in a statement issued today, Friday, 11th July, 2025 adding that UPDF thanks the FARDC for their co-operation and comradeship.
