BREAKING! Gomba DSC Bosses, Inspector of Schools Remanded over Corruption

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit has today, Friday, 11th July, 2025 arraigned before court three senior officials of Gomba District Local Government.

 

The trio that appeared before the Grade 1 Magistrate Court in Gomba District are; Mugerwa John Bosco, the Chairperson District Service Commission and Muwonge Michael, Secretary of the Gomba District Service Commission. The third is Lwanga Charles, the District Inspector of Schools.

 

According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the trio was charged with Demanding Money with Menaces and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. They have been remanded till July 25, 2025.

 

The two Service Commission members between the months of February and November 2024 with intent to steal, conspired and extorted money from different applicants who were required to pay bribes between Shs1 million and 20 million to be considered for jobs. Some of the victims eventually secured senior positions within the district.

 

Additionally, Mr. Charles Lwanga, Senior Inspector of Schools at Gomba District Local Government, is charged with extorting funds from various Head Teachers in the district by promising them improved postings and promotions.
