Dr. Phillip Lulume Bayiga, MP for Buikwe South and longtime Democratic Party member, has defected to the People’s Front for Freedom, PFF.
Members of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) welcomed Dr Lulume Bayiga, to the party today, Monday, 7th July, 2025.
Bayiga crossed over from the Democratic Party (DP) to PFF following disagreements with DP president general and Justice Minister, Norbert Mao. Bayiga recently lost the DP presidency to Mao, who has led the party since 2010.
Earlier on July, 5th, 2025, Bayigga, threw away his Democratic Party (DP) ticket he has held since 2007 to contest as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections.
The latest events however, may mean that Dr. Lulume may carry the PFF flag to defend his Seat in the next Parliament.
