U.S President, Donald Trump has brokered a peace deal between Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. Rwanda has widely been accused of aiding the M23 rebel outfit, fighting in the Eastern DRC.
In a social media tweet, today, Saturday, 21st June, 2025, Donald Trump announces that he has arranged a ‘wonderful treaty between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Rwanda.”
He says that the representatives from the two countries will travel to Washington on Monday, 23rd June, 2025 to sign the Peace treaty documents.
“This is a great day for Africa and quite frankly, a great day for the world,” Tweets Trump.
Trump who says, he does not expect a Noble Prize for his peace efforts in countries including Pakistan/India, Ethiopia/Egypt, Kosovo/Serbia, argues that the ‘people know and that is what matters to me.”
