The City Clerk of Jinja City is in trouble for allegedly diverting Shs950M meant for the construction of Railways Seed Secondary School in Jinja City.

According to the Deputy IGG, Anne Twinomugisha, Mr. Edward Lwanga diverted the money which had been remitted by government to pay Kiru General Services, the contractor constructing Uganda Railways Seed Secondary School in Jinja City.

Instead Lwanga, without authorization from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning diverted the money to the Southern Division to among others pay allowance arrears for councilors.

In a statement issued today, Friday, 4th July, 2025, Twino says the Inspectorate of Government will take action against the City Clerk of Jinja City.

She noted that Mr. Lwanga breached the trust which the gov’t and public placed in him.
