Media personality Bina Babie has opened up on how she struggled to get a sperm donor to help her have children following her struggle with infertility.
Bina Babie, real name Robinah Mbabazi, during her chat with fellow presenter Doreen Nasasira, narrated that, under social media pressure, she tried other methods to have children, including IVF.
She visited a fertility center where they told her to pay 2 million shillings and have a man donate his sperm for the process to see if she gets pregnant. She approached four men, promising to pay them, but they all turned her down for different reasons.
One of them was presenter and politician Jacob Omutuuze, whose eyes she said had attracted her. She reached out to him as his friend, and following their discussion, he agreed on one condition that they would be intimate rather than getting her pregnant medically. With this, he said, Bina Babie didn’t have to pay a single coin.
The second one told me it wasn’t as easy as I thought. I told him I was willing to pay. He refused to. The third one told me how I was a believer and still wanted test tube babies.
He tried putting some sense in my head, but at that point, I was so desperate. He told me maybe God was saving me from giving birth to a child who would disturb me because I was not ready.
The last one turned me down, but I told him we would sign a contract in which I would never disturb him. He said the child would disturb me and force me to look for him.

The Radio 4 presenter further expressed her regret after he approached the men. She revealed that she was so embarrassed and couldn’t handle the shame, especially after Jacob Omutuuze spilled his secrets on air, telling the public that she would go as far as paying.
Imagine walking into someone’s office and then spitting out all this. It was desperation that stooped so low as to tell them I would pay. It was so shameful and embarrassing. I do not know if they looked at me. Apart from Jacob Omutuuze, the rest didn’t even talk about it.
