Musician Big Eye Starboss is over the moon about the recent milestone in the Copyright Amendment Bill, and as part of the celebrations, he is putting his music catalog up for sale to start earning money.
Big Eye, during an interview with Sanyuka TV, made an official announcement to all businesspeople interested in his music that he was putting his music up for sale. He said the highest bidder would pay him money and have the right to collect royalties from his songs for the next five years.
After the contract, they are free to renew or hand him back the rights to be sold to someone else. Before proceeding, however, he noted that he would first consider the regulations and clear policies before putting a price tag on it.
The Amendment Bill was tabled in Parliament, passed by the Speaker, and is now awaiting the president’s signature. In the meantime, Big Eye revealed that it was time for business and called upon the tycoons to come forward to bid, as he would be selling music to them to collect royalties for five years.
“If the copyright is in place and I have a big catalog, whose rights I own, you can come, and we bid because I have already started putting my music on the market. You can come, and we will negotiate, but come prepared, because my music is expensive, not cheap. My catalogue is big from Indicator, Physically Fit, Tusasanya, among others; they can get me money,” Big Eye Starboss said.
Big Eye revealed that he couldn’t settle for 50 million for his music for the five years, noting that he could easily make that in a month or from just a concert. He made it clear that the negotiations would start from a billion shillings.
