Musician Betty Mpologoma has filed a case against her biological sister Phoebe Nassolo, accusing her of conniving with other relatives to steal 11 cows belonging to their ailing mother.
Reports indicate that the two sisters are embroiled in a bitter dispute over the alleged theft, which led to Nassolo’s arrest on February 11th, 2024. She was first detained at Kibuye Police Station, where she spent several days in custody before being transferred to Kanoni Police Station and later presented before the court.
During her court appearance, Nassolo denied all allegations, insisting that she had no involvement in the alleged theft. She also argued that she has been the primary caregiver for their mother, who has been battling illness.
Nassolo was granted bail after posting UGX 1.5 million, an amount reportedly sent to her by musician Eddy Kenzo, who was contacted by her lawyer, Counsel Aziz.
Following her release, Nassolo expressed her disappointment and frustration with Mpologoma, accusing her of wrongfully involving the police and causing her to spend nearly a week behind bars. She maintains that the accusations against her are baseless and untrue.
The dispute has ignited tension within the family, with no clear resolution in sight. Meanwhile, police investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
