Musician Moses Ssali, widely known as Bebe Cool, has revealed that his enduring fallout with fellow artist and political figure Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, stems from a deeply personal incident—not music, politics, or public rivalry as often assumed.
Speaking during the Bride and Groom Expo, Bebe Cool explained that the root of their estrangement was a private matter involving Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbie Itungo. At the time, Bebe Cool’s partner, Zuena, had left him, prompting him to reach out to Barbie—whom he considered a friend—to mediate and help resolve the relationship issues. However, this gesture backfired when Bobi Wine reportedly reacted angrily upon learning of the call, confronting Bebe Cool and accusing him of overstepping.

This incident, according to Bebe Cool, was the true catalyst that ended their friendship, despite the history of mutual support between their families. He recounted that Barbie had once sought refuge at his home during disputes with Bobi Wine, and he had offered support without judgment. When the roles were reversed, he says he was met with hostility.

For over a decade, the two traded barbed lyrics in hit diss tracks that fueled one of Uganda’s most iconic entertainment feuds.
