Musician Bebe Cool has opened up on how he shipped his children to village schools as a way of teaching them about the realities of life.
Bebe Cool’s sons, Deen Ozil, 9, and Caysan Ssali, 13, were both born in the US, making them citizens there. Because of his celebrity status and money, netizens hoped his children would go to some of the most expensive schools in Uganda.
The Gagamel International boss, however, doesn’t believe in this notion. In a live TikTok broadcast, he revealed that he dragged his children from the prestigious Kabojja Junior to schools down in Masaka as a life lesson.
“They have never gone back to America ever since they were born. I even changed their schools from Kobojja Junior to Kimaanya SS, and the other one is in a very small school in Masaka,” he said.
Bebe Cool noted that he compared his life back then and how his mother made sure he tasted the real-life experiences. He says this shaped him, and he wanted to try the same experience with his children.

Bebe Cool says that the experiment has been a key factor in teaching his children how to relate with people and some survival skills in situations where there is no money.
“I did this because I looked at my life and realized my mother never took me to these schools. I went to small schools and they shaped me so much. I was giving my children an opportunity to stay in villages and know the local food, speak to people and also know how to figure life out in case I’m not around. In the gates where we stay, our kids do not know how to treat people because they are in a soft life. In villages, there are no gates,” he says.
