Gagamel International boss Bebe Cool has revealed that he is the driving force behind Bobi Wine’s pursuit of a political office.
During his appearance on Sanyuka TV, Bebe Cool noted that he had been supporting President Museveni and his party, NRM, long before Bobi Wine entered politics.
To show his loyalty, he worked on a song ‘Ekisanja’ with the intention of rallying netizens to give the president another term in office.
According to Bebe Cool, he believes that, by being actively involved in politics, he might have inspired Bobi Wine, as a musician, to also contest for a political office.
As someone in the same age bracket, many expected him to take a political stance, but their rivalry grew more intense as they held different ideologies.

He (Bobi Wine) found me here, and I know he learnt from me that an artist can also involve themselves in politics and leadership. You might ask yourselves why I didn’t go on his side as a young man my age. If Kyagulanyi had any purpose or intention to take my country forward in case the president steps aside, I would have joined and supported him. To me, it is not about who is president, whether Kyagulanyi or Museveni, but about convincing me that he could take our country forward.
I kept giving him time to see if he could learn something or speak on issues that concern us, but for the time he has spent in politics and how he is moving, he has a different agenda. I have never seen his manifesto; when he went on a certain television show, instead of displaying his, he put up President Museveni.
