Baryomunsi, Kiwanda, and Wanyoto rally support to be re-elected on NRM CEC

Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi, and Lydia Wanyoto Mutende have jointly announced their candidacies for re-election to the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the NRM, a highly prestigious body within the party’s hierarchy.

The trio addressed the media at the NRM headquarters along Kyadondo Road, emphasizing their strong track records in their respective constituencies compared to other contenders.

Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the current Minister for ICT and National Guidance and NRM Vice Chairman for Western Region, highlighted his achievements.

“Among all candidates vying for the vice chairman position for the Western Region. I have a stronger profile and have delivered significant progress, including improved road infrastructure, healthcare, clean water, and wealth creation initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga,” he said.

Wanyoto, a seasoned diplomat and the current chairperson of the NRM Women’s League, wants to retain her position. The same applies to Kiwanda, the NRM vice chairman for the Central Region.

More than 100 candidates have been nominated to contest various positions within the NRM Central Executive Committee, reflecting the competitive nature of the upcoming elections.
