Musician-turned-businessman Banjo Man has given his reasons for walking away from music and focusing on his personal businesses.
Banjo Man, real name Henry Ssentamu, was part of his brother‘s Firebase crew and had been making music for close to a decade. He, however, took a break and, during an interview with journalists, confessed that he was struggling financially and not making any money from music.
During that time, Banjo Man revealed that he was not getting enough bookings to sustain himself and ended up begging for money.
Among the people who always bailed him financially is Lil Pazo, who he said was doing personal jobs on the side at that time. He eventually decided to walk away and invest in real estate, a business that has built him an empire.
Music made me so poor. I had resorted to begging, and most of the people I asked for money, like Lil Pazo, kept saying it. They are not lying. When you are in music, you’re most of the time broke. Lil Pazo used to work and had some money in his pockets. But for me, I wouldn’t get gigs.
