Baby Gloria reveals she hoped to marry earlier than age 23

Gospel artist Baby Gloria has opened up about her life plans and earlier prayers, stating that she wanted to get married years ago.

Gloria confessed to her followers in a podcast session on her YouTube Channel, noting that it had always been her prayer to get married at a very young age.

As a 23-year-old, she explained that she had wanted to settle down much earlier, but her mother, gospel singer Betty Nakibuuka, held her back because she wanted her daughter to get married at the same age (24 years) that she had.

I kept on telling her that I wanted to get married at 20 or 22. But she advised me not to hurry but to follow God’s plan because His timing is always right, she said.

Baby Gloria and Jonas Mbaleka’s private relationship came to light with photos from their engagement in March this year. Before all this, she revealed that she was soaked in prayer, asking God to speak to the most important people in her life about her union to avoid confusion.

My prayer was for God to speak at the right time. Not just me but also my mum, dad, the prayer warrior at home, Goretti, and all the initial people I needed him to speak to because I didn’t want to convince anyone. She said,

Baby Gloria further stated that Jonas, before the proposal, was always on her case, asking for her hand in marriage. But even when she had desired to get hitched way earlier, she confessed that she started having second thoughts when he pushed for it.

“I thought I was ready for marriage, but when he started talking about it, I started getting second thoughts. He kept on telling me it was the right time, and I told him I would pray about it. I love him so much, and all the boxes were checked, but I had to pray about it,” she said.

When she prayed over it, Gloria says the family (Gloria, her mother, and Jonas) started getting dreams and visions about it. That is when she knew he was the right person, and their journey would be a beautiful and fulfilling one.

I prayed a lot and went to overnights; that is how much I wanted marriage. For the women who say they want to be alone, life is going to be hard regardless. How about you choose the right partner to do life with and grow with someone, she said.
