Veteran rapper Babaluku, real name Silas Babaluku Balabyekkubo, has reignited beef with fellow rapper GNL Zamba, accusing him of being disrespectful towards fellow artists in the same genre.
Babaluku, during an interview with NRG Radio, denied having any issues with GNL and called him out only for his alleged ignorance. The pair had earlier squashed their beef and appeared on the Baboon Forest podcast late last year.
I wouldn’t say we are not on good terms because I wouldn’t hold a grudge against him. Ignorance doesn’t make me hate someone; I feel sorry for them because they are the ones suffering with that process.
GNL Zamba has on numerous occasions appeared on his podcast, airing his views on the hip hop industry, which have most times caused friction with fellow rappers.
As one of the longstanding hip hop rappers in the industry, Babaluku revealed that he had helped build communities, something he says his counterpart has failed to do, instead resorting to using his fame to tear down the achievements of people in the same genre.
“I have been here for 23 years; I’m running the longest HipHop run in Uganda, and you want to come talk hip hop with me? You even do a national address like you are going to help us; how come you didn’t help us when you blew up? How many communities have you elevated because now we are talking about community and numbers? Please don’t show me Mun G and Big Trill.

Speaking directly to GNL, Babaluku advised him to stop riding on negative press. He called for respect for fellow rappers and considered inspiring the younger generation rather than getting involved in baseless beef.
You cannot get clout by trashing people. We are hip hop builders, and we want the culture to be respected and valued. How can you come up as a person that young people look up to and then start trashing your fellows? I don’t support it.
