Musician Azawi has defended Zafaran against allegations that she was fired from Swangz Avenue, tagging her as one of the talented artists she knows.
Zafaran joined Swangz Avenue in 2022, but fans feel she hasn’t had the big breakthrough she deserved. There have been allegations that she quit the label, but Azawi, while speaking to Galaxy TV viewers, debunked the rumors.
Azawi emphasized that Zafaran is a super-talented woman, and she would not allow her to leave. She revealed that she was in a state of still figuring herself out and what direction she wanted to take her music.
“She is still very much involved, but sometimes you need to give yourself time to figure out what you really want to do, and she is still in that phase. I’m praying for her to get her calling, direction, and guidance that she needs because she is an amazing talent,” Azawi said.
Zafaran recently confessed that Azawi was her closest friend in Swangz. Azawi revealed that every time they met, she always reminded her to give her fans new music, despite always coming up with excuses.
“We talk, and every time we meet, the first thing I ask her is why she doesn’t give us music. I’m always on her neck, and she gives me all sorts of excuses, but I have to remind her every time we meet,” she said.

Azawi noted that things may not have turned out the way both parties wanted, but Zafaran was still signed to Swangz Avenue.
“Maybe things didn’t turn out the way she or they wanted, but I feel like if she wakes up and makes a decision that she is now back to making serious music with Swangz, the spot is still there for her,” Azawi said.
