As the race for the coveted Miss Tourism Uganda 2025 title gains momentum, Bunyoro-Kitara proudly unveiled its regional representative during a lively event held at HB Hotel in Hoima over the weekend.

Anisha Kyomugisha, a 21-year-old from Hoima District, emerged victorious and was crowned Miss Tourism Bunyoro 2025. She will be joined at the national grand finale by first runner-up Shana Asaba and second runner-up Shivan Namugerwa, both 21 and hailing from Masindi District. The trio will represent Bunyoro at the national finals scheduled for September 5 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Themed “I Am My Culture”, this year’s pageant emphasizes cultural identity and preservation. Contestants were challenged to creatively express their heritage through traditional dance, attire, talent exhibitions, and clan presentations—celebrating Bunyoro’s rich history and values.

Bunyoro is known for its deep-rooted clan system, with royalty forming an integral part of its social fabric. Contestants took time to educate the enthusiastic audience about their clans, connecting the beauty of pageantry with ancestral pride. Kyomugisha, a proud member of the Nyabaswazima clan, said her participation was inspired by a desire to champion Bunyoro’s cultural wealth, promote local tourism, and encourage intercultural exchange.

The evening’s chief guest, Princess Daphine Kabatalesa Adyeri—heir apparent to the Queen of Bunyoro-Kitara—commended the organizers for keeping the region’s culture alive through such platforms. She pledged continued support from the kingdom and donated UGX 500,000 toward the event.

Musical performances from Genne Music and Shantel Jovial added rhythm and entertainment to the vibrant evening. So far, regional queens have also been selected from Buganda, Eastern, Southwestern, Toro, Northern, Ankole, and West Nile as the national competition nears its climax.

West Nile also crowned its representatives over the weekend as Letaru Mercy Jovia, 24 years old from Moyo District as named the queen while Endredru Stacy Tanyi, 24 years old from Moyo District and Lekuru Eron, 20 years old from Arua District were crowned first and second runner up respectively.
