Alien Skin Explains Why He Quit NRM Campaign Performances

Date:

Singer Alien Skin has opened up about why he ditched the rally performances, claiming he started to relate to netizens who thought the artists were wasting taxpayers’ money.

Alien Skin was one of the prominent faces featured in the NRM campaigns and toured parts of the country, but shortly stepped aside following rumors of wrangles among the top artists managing the projects.

Despite being paid, Alien Skin gave his reasons for backing out of the money-making arrangement. During his appearance on a TikTok live broadcast, the singer explained that before he became famous, he felt the artists were wasting taxpayers’ money meant to help the poor.

He put himself in their shoes and decided to let it go for the sake of his friends in the ghetto and everyone out there who had the same feeling as he had before all the fame and money.

Before I started making music, there was a way I felt about the government, plus all the artists who came up to support and sing for them. As an ordinary man, I felt bad and angry because I knew they were feasting on taxpayers’ money. I got to a point and started feeling bad for the people that I left in the ghetto. I wondered if they felt the same way I did every time they saw me singing during campaigns.
