Alien Skin Battles for Fangone Forest Name as Businessman Claims Trademark Rights

Date:

Musician Alien Skin found himself in a legal battle to save his stage name and that of his label, Fangone Forest Entertainment Limited.

According to the legal documents, a businessman, Aguma Agumikiriza Aaron, filed the complaint claiming legal ownership. Identifying himself as the director of Fangone Forest Entertainment LTD, Aguma, in his counterstatement, revealed that he legally registered and trademarked the name under URSB, and he did it after Alien Skin had already started his career.

Meanwhile, Alien, represented by his lawyers Patrick Shyaka & Co. Advocates, also filed a formal Notice of intention to oppose the Application for Registration of the trademark.

They asserted that for the past four years, the singer has been using the ‘Alien Skin’ and has been active despite not registering it yet.

During this period, the name has become known to the public, making people associate it with his music. They claimed that Aguma’s use of the name ‘Fangone Forest Entertainment Ltd’ will mislead the public, with people thinking that he is connected to Alien Skin as an artist.

Alien, while speaking to Sanyuka TV, revealed that he was not ready for the court back and forth and would sit back and watch as events unfold.
