Abitex cancels Jose Chameleone’s concert, cites disagreement over fees

Date:

Renowned events promoter Abitex has announced that Leone Island boss Jose Chameleone’s concert will not go on as planned.

A few months ago, while he was in the USA for treatment, Chameleone excited his fans after he shared a photo on his social media platforms, with only a date hinting at a possible concert.

Although he didn’t provide detailed information about the entry fees, Promoter Abitex confirmed that the event would be held at Kololo Airstrip on August 1st.

Just a few weeks before the scheduled date, Abitex has announced that he is stepping down as the events promoter behind the concert.

In an interview with Spark TV, Abitex confirmed that he had transitioned from a one-man concert to a general event, which will feature all artists entertaining fans on stage.

I have cancelled the concert that was meant to celebrate Chameleone and made it general. Chameleone is, however, free to look for another date and celebrate himself with a different promoter or even organize it himself, Abitex confirmed.

When asked for the reason behind his change in plans, Abitex denied the allegations that they had had a misunderstanding. He revealed that they failed to come to an agreement when the Leone Island artist asked for so much money that he couldn’t afford.

Truthfully, the music industry no longer excites me. If I’m to do something and you ask me for an abnormal amount of money as payment, I move on to something else. We discussed payment, and he mentioned a ridiculous amount, Abitex said.
