Musician Aaronx, real name Aaron Mukwaya, has broken down after revealing the inspiration behind his popular ‘Njalwala’ song.
Njalwala’ is a love ballad that tells a story of a love that lasts for a lifetime. Through soft lyrics, Aaronx tells the story of a memorable meeting, crying out to his other never to leave his side. While many have used it to serenade their lovers, Aaronx says every note carries an emotional and painful meaning in his life.
At the time he wrote it, his mother was bedridden and awaiting surgery. It is the thought of losing her that made him break down and write the emotional lines expressing how meaningless life would be if she left him.
Aaronx revealed in a sit-down interview with ‘Deep Talk’ that he had been a troublesome child growing up, and even amid all the unfortunate situations he found himself in, his mother never abandoned him and was always there to save him.
You might think I was singing about love, but the pain that I had in my heart was about my mother, who was on her sickbed and about to be operated on. This is the person who fought for me. Even though I was expelled numerous times, she is the one who paid everything to the school. She rescued me from prison several times after I had joined bad groups. The thought of losing her was terrible.
