His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, was in the Ankole-Kigezi region over the weekend to express his condolences to the families of two prominent Muslim leaders who recently passed away.
The Mufti first visited the family of the late Haj Abdu-Wahab Rugasa, who was laid to rest in Ishingororo, Ibanda District. He later traveled to Nyakibalira village, Kabuseki ward, Masheruka Town Council, Sheema District, to offer sympathy to the family of Haj Swaib Kalandi, father of Hon. Sophie Safina Kenyangi, the National Chairperson of the Muslim Women Council. Haj Swaib Kalandi was buried at his residence.

In his visits, the Mufti prayed for the departed souls and also for the strength of the grieving family members. These deaths occurred while Mufti Mubaje was out of the country.
Accompanying him on these visits was Sheikh Abdu-Karim Abdullah Katamba, the Regional Assistant to the Mufti for the Ankole-Kigezi Muslim region, alongside other Muslim leaders.
